David Bishop

I’m David Bishop, I’ve worked as a producer or designer on games like Bombuzal, Dune, The 7th Guest, Disney’s Aladdin, Jungle Book, Cool Spot and the mobile versions of Plants vs. Zombies, Peggle and Bejeweled.

I’m lucky enough to have enjoyed a long career in the games industry spanning more than 35 years at companies like Sky and Virgin during which time I’ve been lucky enough to work on many award-winning games generating in excess of £300m.
I also founded the UK’s first PR and design agency to focus exclusively on the games industry, worked as a feature writer for C&VG magazine and served as a jury member at 3 Interactive BAFTAS.
In 2014 I co-founded a small mobile studio in Brighton called Delinquent which was later acquired by MAG Interactive where I’m still happily making casual mobile games such as Wordalot.

David Bishop was a producer also at Andromeda in the eighties. Andromeda was a British software company mediating between programmers in the Eastern Bloc and publishers in the West. They sold games like Impossible Mission II, developed by Novotrade behind the Iron Curtain. Bishop speaks about those days in the documentary Moleman 4 – Longplay. Smuggled computers, surprised Commodore, outfoxed Nintendo, tricked SEGA, revolutionary game engines, groundbreaking ideas. A games software outfit that dodged the limelight and led the world from behind the Iron Curtain.
